Echelle polychromators are preferably used in the atomic spectroscopy mainly caused by their very good optical resolution. The structure of Echelle detectors is essentially based on a prisma, an Echelle grating and a two dimensional CCD camera. Due to the compact design of Echelle polychromators no moving elements are required.
